Mr. John Portable Sanitation Acquires Long Island-Based Aparos Little John In Multi-State Deal

Mr. John, a 53-year-old portable sanitation company based in Keasbey, NJ, today announced its acquisition of Aparos Little John, Inc., a 30-year-old portable sanitation company based in Bay Shore, NY. Under the terms of the deal, Mr. John assumes all Aparos assets, operations and customers, creating an expanded company of more than 300 employees and 4,300 active customers across New York and New Jersey, positioning Mr. John for continued success in the market. The sum of the transaction, which closed on November 15, was not disclosed.

“This was a natural synergy for Mr. John and Aparos Little John, uniting two similarly run, family-owned businesses with a strong and loyal customer base,” said Gary Weiner, President of Mr. John. “We’ve put our products at the top of the World Trade Center, 250 feet below Grand Central Terminal and at construction sites, festivals, weddings and more across the five boroughs, Long Island and New Jersey. We are confident that we have the inventory, team, and experience to be the only company our customers call as long as nature keeps calling.”

Founded in 1964, Mr. John provides temporary restroom and wastewater management services for construction sites, seasonal and long-term projects, and special events in Long Island and the Five Boroughs of New York City. In 2001, Mr. John delivered and serviced more than 600 temporary restrooms during World Trade Center rescue and recovery operations. In 2012, Mr. John provided hundreds of portable restrooms and trailers for Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island families who had lost access to running water after Superstorm Sandy. In 2017, Mr. John was recognized as the Family Business of the Year in the over $10 million annual sales category for its significant contribution to the economy and community.

Aparos was founded in 1984 and serves Nassau and Suffolk counties as well as the five boroughs of New York City. Mr. John will continue to serve the Long Island market from its existing Lindenhurst location. Lisa Aparo, daughter of owner and founder Angelo Aparo, will join Mr. John as Integration Specialist.
