Presby Environmental

Presby Environmental is a company with a history of excellence in New Hampshire that routinely advertises in American Liquid Waste Magazine. They consider themselves the “next generation of wastewater treatment technology” for good reason.

Founded in 1995 by inventor David Presby, this innovative organization has always been a leader in the septic industry. With a dedicated team of professionals helming the company, it’s managed to get rave customer testimonials from homeowners, realtors, and all kinds of major companies in the construction and industrial sectors. Let’s take a look at an in-depth company profile in this interview with Presby’s marketing manager, Julie Cote.

How was Presby Environmental started?

Presby Environmental Inc. (PEI) was founded in 1995 by David Presby. At the time he was working as an inventor and pursing different business opportunities. As an environmental organization, Presby creates new technology that alters the way wastewaters is treated in different treatment plants. The company is geared towards controlling water pollution so that the Earth’s most important natural resource is protected and preserved for generations to come.

When David was only 14-years-old, his dad owned Presby Construction and even at this tender age, David was interested in working under his father to learn his business. The lack of a cost-effective way to treat wastewater made a great impression on David, so he began thinking of ways to solve this issue. That solution eventually became the Enviro-Septic Technology. This is a practical and very useful wastewater treatment system that also then became the Advanced Enviro-Septic® Wastewater Treatment System.

Is Presby Environmental just one main company?

Actually, with the strides that Presby has made in the industry by combining innovation with exhaustive research over all aspects of the wastewater industry, we have branched out to two other companies, including Presby Construction and Presby Plastics. Combined all of these companies work on wastewater system management from start to finish, including design, installation, and all repair work. Some of our patented technologies include Simple-Septic®, the Presby Maze®, and Spec-Check®, which are manufactured at our corporate headquarter facilities in New Hampshire. This is 50 years of David’s hard work in play here!

Where are your main offices located and how many employees do you have?

Our main office and plant are in Whitefield, NH. We have 22 people who work on site and four employees that work remotely.

Tell me a little bit about company culture and what it’s like to work there?

Presby Environmental has a fast-paced work environment with constant growth as our approvals expand nationally and globally. We are a diverse tight-knit team with many highly respected professionals working to grow the business.

Has your company made any strides in newer technology recently?

We just came out with our newest passive onsite wastewater treatment system called EnviroFin® system. The system has a very small footprint as the system both treats and disperses the treated effluent (exceeding NSF Standard 40 treatment standards.) The system (weighing only 50 lbs) can be shipped through the mail. It is a solution for tight building lots, repairs, and tough soils.

Describe your company motto?

Start with the solution. At Presby Environmental we strive to be the problem solvers and connect people with solutions for their site.

Tell us a little bit about some of the main products you offer?

Our main products are Advanced Enviro-septic® system, Enviro-Septic® system, and EnviroFin® system. Our most popular system, Advanced Enviro-Septic® (AES) is an effective, passive onsite wastewater treatment system for residential, commercial and community use. AES quickly and naturally establishes multiple bacterial treatment environments throughout the system that breaks down and digests wastewater contaminants that leave the septic tank. Highly purified wastewater is released into the soil, recharging the groundwater, preventing soil and groundwater contamination. AES has third-party certification including NSF-40 Class I Certified, BNQ Certified for Secondary and Advanced Secondary Treatment, and SAI Global.

What are your Presby University initiatives and how can they help your clients?

The goal of Presby University is to educate septic system professionals on how to properly design and install our systems. We are the only company in the industry that has a self-imposed free certification course and a test that is required to be taken for anyone who wants to design and install our septic systems. The main beneficiaries of our certification course are the homeowners. Less installation or designer errors means fewer failure rates for homeowner or business owners to pay for repairs or replacements.
